Babcock-Davis is pleased to announce and offer an updated Lunch & Learn AIA Continuing Education program: Roof Hatch & Smoke Vent Life Safety, Design and BIM Integration. This course will explain the benefits of roof hatch & smoke vent design, life safety and BIM integration. The design professional will have a greater understanding of code regulations for life safety with proper selection of products in accordance to building codes and applications. Through an illustration and video demonstration on BIM modeling, the designer will be able to integrate roof hatches and smoke vents into their next project with superior quality.

Single Door hatches with lengths greater than 5’ now include a more secure latch, improved safety and easier operation. Through internal testing Babcock-Davis has confirmed 90 psf wind uplift for sizes up to 4’x12’. In addition, our updated design includes an off-set handle for ease of reach.

Babcock-Davis announced today that it has received Miami-Dade County Product Control Approval for its roof access Hurricane Hatch. The product approval includes the industries highest design pressure performance of +/- 100 psf.

Complying with the Florida Building Code (including the High Velocity Hurricane Zone) the Hurricane Hatch is ideally suited for commercial applications within areas exposed to high winds, hurricanes and tornadoes.

Babcock-Davis Completes Expansion and Relocation in Brooklyn Park

Babcock-Davis has completed a lease expansion and relocation totaling approximately 51,000 square feet of manufacturing space in Brooklyn Park, Minn. Jones Lang LaSalle provided tenant representation services for the commercial building products manufacturer and distributor.

Babcock-Davis has leased space at 7316 Aspen Lane, a multi-tenant industrial facility. The converted warehouse space being leased by Babcock-Davis features approximately 3,000 square feet of office space. The rest of the space is newly constructed manufacturing space. The company previously had leased approximately 30,000 square feet, but needed to expand due to the increased demand for products from clients.
